A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Kagan Love. I’m a math tutor based in Wichita Falls with a background in math and physics and years of experience helping students succeed. I’ve worked with learners from elementary school through college, and I believe every student is capable of understanding math with the right guidance and practice.

I’ve taught in classrooms and worked for well-known programs like Mathnasium and Sylvan Learning Center, where I helped students catch up, get ahead, and gain confidence in their skills. Over time, I saw how powerful it was to give students individualized attention and explain things in a way that actually makes sense to them.

I started Math With Love to offer personal, one-on-one tutoring that is clear, encouraging, and effective. I focus not just on helping students get the right answers, but on teaching them how to think, how to stay focused, and how to feel confident in their ability to learn.

Whether your student is struggling or already excelling, I’m here to support their growth every step of the way.

I currently work full-time as an Instructional Designer at Texas State Technical College. I collaborate with subject matter experts to develop clear, engaging course materials for technical programs, with a focus on hands-on learning and real-world application. My work includes designing online and hybrid modules, building assessments, and ensuring that course outcomes align with both industry expectations and student success.

I served as the math teacher for grades 6 through 12 at Christ Academy. I was responsible for developing and delivering math curriculum across multiple grade levels, tailoring instruction to a wide range of abilities and learning styles. In addition to classroom teaching, I managed both online and hybrid classes, created custom assessments, and provided individualized support to help students succeed in foundational and advanced math topics.

I worked as the Center Director and Lead Instructor at Mathnasium in Wichita Falls. I oversaw daily operations, trained and managed instructional staff, and provided direct tutoring for students at all levels. I also worked closely with families to track progress and ensure personalized learning plans were effective. My time there ended after the passing of the owner, but the impact of the work we did together continues to shape how I approach math education today.

I served as the Director of Training for three Mathnasium centers in the Chicago area while also working full time as a lead instructor. I was responsible for onboarding and mentoring new staff, reinforcing instructional quality across all locations, and ensuring tutors delivered math support consistent with the Mathnasium Method. In addition to my training duties, I continued providing direct instruction to students of all ages, supporting their growth through one-on-one and small-group sessions in a learning center environment.

While completing my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics, I worked full time as a tutor both privately and at Sylvan Learning Center. At Sylvan, I served as their in-house math expert, supporting students across a wide range of grade levels and ability levels. I also maintained a steady base of private clients, providing personalized instruction in everything from pre-algebra to calculus. This period laid the foundation for my passion for one-on-one teaching and adaptive, student-centered learning.
